   Earl Campbell is one of the most notable running backs to ever play college football.Graduating from the University of Texas in 1977, he was the number 1 draft pick by the Houston Oilers and was voted Rookie of the Year as well as Most Valuable Player in his first professional year.By the end of his professional football career he had amassed 9,407 yards rushing, 806 yards receiving, 74 total touchdowns, and 10,213 total yards.He ranks tenth on the all-time rushing yards in the NFL and has appeared on the coverof Sports Illustrated six times.

   Earl Campbell and Panic Disorder: Panic disorder.After retiring from the NFL and while working for the University of Texas, Earl Campbell had his first panic attack when waiting at a stoplight while driving home one day, according to his Web site.He did not know what it was and did not tell anyone.That night, another attack hit him while sleeping.He was rushed to the hospital but nothing was found wrong.After hiding in his bedroom for a month, Campbell reached out for help.
   
   Treatment Earl Campbell Has Received: When Campbell reached out for help, the head trainer at the University of Texas referred him to a doctor.The doctor found nothing wrong, so Campbell went to another doctor.It was the second doctor who diagnosed Campbell with panic disorder and prescribed medication.Although Campbell wasn't sure about the medication, he tried it, and he found relief within months, according to his Web site.Brief Biography of Earl Campbell: Earl Campbell was born March 29, 1955 in Tyler, Texas.He was the sixth of 11 children.The family was close and had strong spiritual beliefs.His father worked two jobs to support the family.When Campbell was 11, his father passed away, and the entire family took care of each other.Campbell first began playing football in 5th grade.In 9th grade, Campbell met Reuna, his future wife.The couple now has two sons.Today, Campbell is the president and founder of Earl Campbell Meat Products, Inc.
