Billy Campbell was born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.He was converted in the mid-1950s at the time of the Billy Graham "radio link" campaigns in the UK.The following year he responded to God's call to missionary service.He studied theology in Scotland 1960-64.Billy engaged in evangelistic gospel campaigns in Scotland, Ireland, and Canada and took graduate degree studies in the UK and USA.
In 1964 Billy was accepted by OMS Int'l, UK as a missionary in Hong Kong as an evangelist/church-planter.In 1969 he married Jeanne, from Wales.They have two daughters: Kathleen, teaching in Hong Kong, and Caroline, working in London.
Billy was director of OMS Homeland Ministries in the British Isles, 1975-81, and senior pastor at Trinity Evangelical Church near Liverpool.
