Campbell began his career as a prototype engineer for White Motor Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio. He has served as plant manager for Condec Corporation, Nippon Miniature Bearings and Saab Scania A.B. He joined Titan in 1995 as operations manager for the Des Moines, Iowa, facility and was promoted to executive vice president in 1999.
