   Tim Campbell is the theatre's Managing & Artistic Director.Tim began his duties in August 2004, and directed five of the six shows in the 2004-05 Main Series Season.Southwest Theatre Association awarded Tim the August Staub Young Director's Award in October 2004.The annual award is presented to promising directors in their first five years of their professional career.Tim holds a master of fine arts in theatre (directing) from the University of Oklahoma, where he served as a graduate teaching assistant.He also holds a bachelor of science degree in music management from the University of Colorado.To read more about Tim, click here

   "It's the most ambitious thing we've ever done," said TCT Artistic Director Tim Campbell.
   
   The large-scale production will be staged in the Marshall Center instead of Temple Civic Theatre, allowing for more than 1,100 audience members for each of the seven shows. More than 100 people are pitching in to help with the production, including TCT staff and volunteers, Temple College faculty and students and a handful of orchestra members.
   
   "When we first started thinking about this, we thought that it needed to be the right show - one that would be better at the Marshall Center than in our space," Campbell said.
   
   The first step in the Temple College/TCT alliance advanced more than a year ago, when the decision was made to offer Temple College theater courses at TCT. At the time, Temple College was well into a $5 million renovation of the Marshall Center. The renovation is ongoing.
   
   "The idea emerged to pool our resources and renovate that center to such an extent that it could house the performing arts division of Temple College, Temple Civic Theatre and the Temple Symphony Orchestra," Campbell said.

   Some possible venues that have been discussed include the Hawn Hotel and Arcadia Theatre in downtown Temple, the Marshall Center, or "starting from an entirely blank slate," Campbell said.

   The keys to the Marshall Center were turned over to Summers and Campbell on Monday, giving them permission to set up shop for the next few weeks.

   Tim Campbell, managing and artistic director of Temple Civic Theatre, teaches a theater practicum course where students learn about the craft and work behind the scenes of ongoing productions.

   Campbell said that the partnership has been a boon to the Civic Theatre because they have a hand in training actors for their productions, both now and if they decide to participate in the future.
   
   "I've become a theater educator, and I'm getting a chance to invest back into this community since I am training actors," Campbell said.
