Campbell named director
Tim Campbell, formerly of Obion County, has been named director of the Dyer County Agricultural Extension Service.
He took over as director to handle administrative duties for the county's extension office on Nov. 1.
His experience with the Dyer County extension office dates back to 1988 when he went to work there as an adult agriculture agent heading up the row crop demonstration plots and the annual test plot tour.
He helped organize Dyer County Ag Day and helped develop a spread-sheet for the Dyer County fair's market livestock shows and sales.
He earned a bachelor's degree in general agriculture from The University of Tennessee at Martin in 1970 and a master's degree in agronomy from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1972.
Campbell has been honored with the Tennessee Association of Agricultural Agents and Specialists' Hicks Award of Excellence, a $1,500 award which recognizes excellence in agricultural programming.
