Currently the Executive Director of the Salt Lake City Department of Airports, Mr. Campbell has more than 30 years of airport management experience.As MAA Executive Director, he will oversee the management and operations of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Martin State Airport, while administering technical and financial assistance to public-use airports across the State of Maryland.

Campbell is a 31-year veteran of the aviation industry with extensive airport management experience.Since 2000, he has led Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), a large hub international airport.At SLC, Campbell developed an innovative security program that enabled the airport to be the first in the country to implement 100% security screening of checked baggage.Other important initiatives that he implemented at SLC include: directed $100 million in capital projects, preparations for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, the creation of an aggressive air service marketing program to boost international and domestic air service, the development of an airport-wide customer service program.Campbell's other significant aviation management experience includes positions in Nashville, Broward County [Florida], Knoxville, Newport News [Virginia], and Boston.Campbell currently serves on the Board of Directors of the aviation industry organization Airports Council International-North America, and he is chairman of the International Association of Airport Executives.He has also served as chairman of the American Association of Airport Executives.
