Professor Terry Campbell
Currently Terry Campbell is a doctoral candidate at Capella University. Professor Campbell earned his MPA at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. He currently is an Academic Chair in the School of Criminal Justice, Kaplan University. Prior to this he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration at Western Illinois University. Professor Campbell has been Warden/Assistant Warden Varner Unit, Arkansas Department of Corrections, responsible for overall operation of the Varner Unit. Here he developed policies and procedures within State and Association standards and regulations, and worked with the Attorney Generals Office on Title 42, Section 1983 litigation. He was also involved in budget preparation, development of emergency procedures, and fire and safety concerns.
Professor Campbell has also been responsible for the transfer and transition of youthful offenders. He served as Parole Administrator, Central Office, and Arkansas Department of Corrections, where he was responsible for Parole Services programs and staff supervision. He also served as Special Weapons and Tactical Team Leader responsible for training and maintaining readiness of a team to respond during disturbances, escapes, and executions.
Professor Campbell was responsible for treatment programs and supervised staff in the areas of Vocational Education/Education, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Medical and Mental Health, Recreation, Records, Personnel and Training.
Professor Campbell is a Certified Police Officer in the state of Illinois and is recognized as an expert witness on law enforcement and corrections issues.

Terry G. Campbell, M.P.A. Associate:
Mr. Campbell has over 20 years of progressive experience in corrections and law enforcement organizations. Before becoming a professor at Western Illinois University, Mr. Campbell spent several years as a warden in the state of Arkansas, and served as a police officer in Wheaton, Illinois in the earlier part of his career. Other experiences in corrections include Personnel, Training, Parole Administration, Accreditation, Policy and Procedures, Jail Administration, and 1983 Litigation. Mr. Campbell consults for the Illinois Department of Corrections in areas of defense tactics, and leadership and management.
His academic teaching areas are organization and administration, corrections, probation, parole, juveniles, ethics, and cultural diversity issues. He is certified as a firearms instructor, self-defense, emergency preparedness, tactical emergency teams, first aid - CPR, and fire training. He is currently working on his doctorate in public administration at the University of Illinois and also training in Juvenile Certification Courses for the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. -
