   Ameritest's president , Steve Campbell , who is the Application Developer for Ashland , Inc.'s Medical Department , demonstrated 4D's capability of sending and receiving email , without human interaction , as part of this session. Campbell's demonstration actually showed how methods which manipulate records in a database can trigger an email which is sent to a remote user and how the remote user's email reply subsequently can modify a corresponding record in the database. The demonstration centered around US DOT regulated drug testing which requires random selection of persons in a pool for a 'Random' drug test and the requirement on the part of the supervisor to notify the employee of his/her selection , and report back to the company , the details of the notification.
   
   On the evening of 4/24/2001 the Informatics Section of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine met.

   Campbell noted that there are over 6 , 000 active Partners in the 4D community , most of which contribute to the 4DNUG , and without each and every one of them , this project would not exist.
   
   He further stated that he hopes each developer ( just as he has done ) should recognize and promote to their clients the fact that they are not alone , but rather , they are a member of a fraternity of co-developers who will support their application to the client base they have created.
