Scott Campbell first worked with Global Rights from 1995-1996 as Coordinator of our Empowerment Project in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo (then Zaire). He re-joined the Law Group in 1999 when we re-opened a field office in Kinshasa.
Prior to re-joining the Global Rights, he was a consultant to the Africa, Children's Rights, and Asia divisions of Human Rights Watch, for whom he led research and advocacy initiatives. He researched/authored HRW reports on Congo, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, Sri Lanka, and India, and helped develop an NGO capacity-building program for the Africa division. Mr. Campbell received the Distinguished Public Service Award from the US Department of State and the Gorman Public Health Humanitarian Award from Columbia University in 1997. He holds a Master of International Affairs and a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and a BA from Middlebury College. He is fluent in French, Lingala, Sango, Spanish and English and has a working knowledge of Kiswahili. -

Scott Campbell joined the International Human Rights Law Group in 1999 when IHRLG re-opened a field office in Kinshasa. Prior to re-joining IHRLG, he was a consultant for the Africa and Asia divisions of Human Rights Watch (HRW), for whom he led advocacy efforts on human rights issues, developed an NGO capacity-building program for the Africa division, and researched and authored HRW reports on Congo, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, Sri Lanka, and India.
