Leaders of the Amazon Nations of Ecuador and Peru visted Houston, Texas to formally reject any oil exploration or development in the Block 24 region of the Ecuadorian Amazon. They held a news conference and issued an appeal for solidarity outside the Galleria headquarters of Burlington Resources, the concession holder. Milton Callera of FINAE, Bosco Najamdey of FIPSE, Pablo Tsere of FICSH, and Kenny Bruno of EarthRights International, are advised by HPD that Burlington officials have instructed that the visitorsl not be permitted on the property.
