"It may seem odd to be pressing parents to get in touch many months in advance of actually needing the tutor, but in our experience it makes the entire recruitment process so much smoother, and results in a wider choice of candidates," explained Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International. "Ideally parents who need a tutor for the end of summer 2010 should get in touch by the end of this year. This enables us to meet the family, evaluate the needs of the child and put together a detailed recruitment brief to advertise for the position in January. Then we would have a shortlist of candidates by the end of the spring term, giving the chosen tutor the opportunity to provide a full term of notice if necessary, ready to start at the end of the summer holidays."

When asked why so many parents don't plan far enough in advance, Adam replied; "I think many parents simply aren't aware of the fact that academic recruitment has a seasonal cycle, and that many of the best tutors already hold teaching positions in schools that require a term's notice period. I know several enquiries have come in late as parents have been uncertain about whether a full-time tutor will be required. They may be considering a year long trip around the world, but have been reluctant to start tutor recruitment until their plans are finalised. I would recommend to any parents who think there might be a change in circumstances that would require home schooling by a full-time private tutor to get in touch and begin the process as soon as possible. If later they realise that need isn't there, they can easily withdraw," Adam reassured.

I'm glad that this issue has been brought to the forefront," commented Adam Caller, founder of tutors International. "We have been asked in the past whether we could just find a university student to support a child's education, as many tutor agencies have been known to do, and we have always said no. This report provides clear evidence of why we have always taken the time and effort to find the most exceptionally qualified individuals to fill our tutor positions; it really does make a huge amount of difference to the quality of education provided."

"We've made our recruitment criteria visible to demonstrate that we take our responsibility very seriously, and also to reassure parents that their child will not be placed in the same situation as the children in the report, namely spending the majority of their time with an individual who is inadequately trained and poorly qualified," Adam explained.

Founder Adam Caller explains how increased demand for full-time private tutors in Dubai is a result of the Dubai property industry collapse.

OXFORD, UK, July 24, 2009 /United Kingdom News Articles/ -- Tutors International announces that June has been the busiest month since the company was founded ten years ago. A significant number of enquiries regarding the provision of full-time private tutors have been received from wealthy families in Dubai who are increasingly dissatisfied with education provision in the most prestigious private schools. For more information, visit www.tutors-international.com or call +44 (0) 1865 435 135.

"We are hearing from a lot of unhappy parents in Dubai," commented Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International. "Many are losing faith in the education provided by the most prestigious schools in the city, and it seems that the drop in standards is being caused by the collapse of the property industry. The two may seem unrelated, but one sustains the other as the private schools have been staffed with the wives of foreign specialists that have been working in the property industry."

The Dubai property industry has not escaped the economic downturn, with property prices over 40% lower in 2009 compared to the same period in 2008. "As a result, the foreign property developers, architects and surveyors are leaving the country and obviously their wives are leaving with them, resulting in what seems to be a staffing crisis in many of the private schools in Dubai," explained Adam.

Tutors International has received record numbers of enquiries from parents desperate to secure intensive private tuition in lead up the summer exams, but founder Adam Caller warns that better forward planning is needed

OXFORD, UK, May 17, 2009 /United Kingdom News Articles/ -- Tutors International announces record numbers of enquiries from parents seeking private tutors to provide intensive exam preparation for the summer 2009 exam period. However, many are getting in touch with only weeks until the exams and often are disappointed to discover that their efforts have come far too late to be beneficial to their child. Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International, warns parents that more forward planning is necessary. For more information, visit www.tutors-international.com or call +44 (0) 1865 435 135.

"It's been a busy few weeks, and some parents are really quite desperate," commented Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International. "I do feel for them, but there is only so much that can be done so close to the exams and it's not a service that we are focused on. We can offer intensive tuition in some cases, depending on location and subject, but we specialise in the provision of full-time private tutors, which is a very different service."

When asked what the parents in this situation should do, Adam replied; "I think that planning ahead as far as possible is the only solution.

Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International, explains the reasons why, and how it has created the demand that inspired him to start a specialist SAT tuition service in London. For more information, visit www.tutors-international.com or call +44 (0) 1865 435 135.

"Applying to American universities involves a fundamentally different system," Adam explains. "The aspect that causes the most worry for students is the preparation for the SAT exam. It's very different to the SATs carried out in UK schools at younger ages, and performing at ones best is absolutely critical in securing a place at the desired US university. When asked why UK schools are not providing help for these students, Adam replied; "These students are in the minority, and in a school system that only has resources to cater for the majority, there simply isn't the budget to bring in people who understand the American admissions process and know how to prepare for it."

"Many A-level students can benefit from the experience of their teachers when applying to universities in the UK," Adam commented. "A great deal of additional help is provided simply from teachers having personally experienced the British admissions process, and also from having helped so many students over previous years. However, American teachers are relatively rare in English schools, so that extra help simply isn't there. In addition, having experienced the SAT exam once is not enough to really help a student to prepare for it. Our tutors are highly experienced in PSAT tuition, SSAT tuition and coaching for American college graduate testing," Adam enthused.

Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International comments; "Home schooling is more widely accepted now as a viable alternative to traditional school attendance. However, we have had several enquiries from home educating families about how best to prepare their teenage child for the rigors of university entrance exams, or SATS and A-levels, when the child has had no experience of formal testing whatsoever."

Adam continued; "I'm not for a moment saying that home education is unable to prepare a child for university, or disadvantaging them in any way, far from it. The vast majority of home schooled children that I have met personally have been bright, articulate and knowledgeable, usually with excellent social skills. I would just like to urge home schooling families to plan ahead for the eventuality that their child may want to take exams in preparation for university, sometimes in subjects that the family may not be able teach or explore alone. When the fact that the child may never have been tested formally in their life is added to the mix, the family can suddenly feel out of depth and that's when they tend to call us."

When asked what a home educating family in this situation should do, Adam replied: "Realizing that help is needed as early as possible is very important, especially for home schooled children who haven't taken any external examinations.
