(Jackson, Miss.)-Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointments of Brian Cain, of Wiggins; Dr. Elizabeth Twiner, of Madison; Mark A. Adams, of Jackson; Dr. James C. Waites, of Laurel; and Virginia Lee Cora, of Jackson, to the Mississippi Board of Nursing Home Administrators.This board is designed to regulate nursing home administrators; its two major administered programs include pre-licensure and examinations, and licensure and regulatory functions.
"These appointees are well-qualified," said Governor Barbour."Each has extensive experience in the health care field, and I feel confident they will serve the people of Mississippi well."
Brian Cain is currently employed as the President of Lakeview Corporation, a nursing home facility.He graduated from the University of Mississippi, earning a Bachelor's degree in political science.Cain is the owner of C.C. Rider, Inc., and has also owned his own business, Innovative Therapies.Cain has been a member of the Independent Nursing Home Association for seven years.
Dr. Elizabeth Twiner works as an instructor at Mississippi College.She has previously worked as a staff nurse at St. Dominic's Hospital, an instructor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and a field nurse at Mississippi Home Care.Dr. Twiner received an Associate's degree from Holmes Junior College in pre-nursing.She went on to earn an Associate's degree from Florida Junior College and her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
