    According to current New Albany-Floyd County Superintendent Dr. Dennis Cahill , time with his family is the motivating factor in his decision to step down at the conclusion of the present school year.

    He told the school board at a recent meeting , I've always tried to put family first and it's time I follow my own advice..

    Cahill informed the board of his decision at their regular meeting on Tuesday , July 24.

    Beginning his fifth year as the head of the corporation , Cahill has been instrumental in the present expansion of New Albany High School.

    He announced that he will retire next July at which time he and his wife intend to move back to Lafayette to be closer to he and his wife's family.
