Butler presented Hickman's findings Tuesday night to the Harrisburg Unit 3 Board of Education during the closed session portion of its monthly meeting. However, the item was not discussed in open session and it was not on the meeting agenda.Butler this morning said the board gave the school the go-ahead to work with the IHSA on the matter.

    ...
Butler said the school's athletic program has been "exceptionally well-run" under Thompson's watch, and that HHS athletes have been "highly touted" for their sportsmanship."But anytime something like this happens, you have to go back, re-assess and do something," Butler said."You can't treat it like a freak accident. We will address it, and our athletes will be informed that they will be under the microscope, and they'd best behave."
