Nothing can be definite until the official qualifying dates are past, reminds Elections Superintendent Jim Burton, who is also judge of probate court.Qualifying time for Democratic, Republican, and nonpartisan candidates begins at 9 a.m. Monday, April 24, and closes at 12 noon Friday, April 28, Burton said.The office will be open 9 to 5 Monday through Friday.Judge Burton emphasized the noon closing time on Friday.He advised all prospective candidates that there can be no deviation from the published schedule.
