Jim Burton

I am the daughter of Jim Burton.An Officer of your Local 174.

Jim Burton was elected Financial Secretary/Treasurer for West Side Local 174 in May of 2004.In 2001 after the merger of Local 157 and Local 174 he was appointed to the position of Guide for the West Side Local 174.His position prior to taking the Financial Secretary/Treasurer seat was on the bargaining committee as Financial Secretary for Lear Detroit Plant.From 1996 to 1999 he held the elected position of 2nd shift Steward/Alternate Committee Person at Lear Detroit.In 1993, he was elected 2nd shift Union Steward.He has also been a Convention Delegate from 1996 to 2004.

During this time Jim has been seriously involved in many aspects.He was elected to the SEMCOSH Board of Directors and is Chair Person for the Mural Restoration Project . Other activities he has been involved

Jim and his wife Sue reside in Detroit with their six children, Angela, James lll, Rebecca, Brandi, Jacob and Jeremy.His wife and children are very active in all Local functions and are the back bone and support of Jim.
