   Janene M. Burton, PT, NCS Director Balance Rehabilitation, Intermountain Hearing and Balance Center Salt Lake City, UT Ms. Janene Burton received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and is an ABPTS Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist. She also holds a Certificate of Advanced Vestibular Competency. In addition to numerous lectures on vestibular rehabilitation, she has consulted for several organizations and participated in clinical research projects. Ms. Burton joined the Intermountain Hearing and Balance Center when it opened in 1995 and is an auxiliary faculty member at the University of Utah Physical Therapy Department, College of Health. She has lectured on Advances in Clinical Education (ACE) and Innovative Balance Instruction Services (IBIS) and is currently a lecturer at the Dogwood Institute. She was awarded the Physical Therapist of the Year award by the Utah Chapter of the APTA in 2001 and has been published in several publications.

   "Falls are the leading cause of injury for seniors," says Janene M. Burton, Physical Therapist, Certified Neurological Specialist, at the IHC Hearing and Balance Center. "Research has shown that each year 30 percent of people age 65 and older suffer a fall. Fifty percent of those individuals will fall repeatedly," Janene says.
