   James has been a member of the Canadian Seed Growers' Association since 1972. His first crop certificate issued was for Valor Alfalfa.
   
   James began his farming career in 1961 purchasing his first irrigation land at Tilley, Alberta in 1965. Low commodity prices prompted James to begin growing alfalfa seed to help support his wife and four children.
   
   James currently lives in Brooks, farming land in partnership at Tilley and operating James Burton Contracting. He specializes in contracting forage seeds for seven seed Companies. He supervises 40 growers producing approximately 6,000 acres of seed.
   
   James' son Collin has taken over the home farm, continuing the business of seed production.
   
   James has served on the executive of the local R.E.A. and Tirol Gas. He is currently on the executive for the Tilley Hall Board and Curling Club and is president of the Bethany Lutheran Church.
   
   James and his wife of 38 years, Doreen have raised four children, Collin, Kevin, Cory and Kimberley.

   Marketing & Sales: The Marketing and Sales Director is James Burton who began his real estate career in Denver in 1996 with his focus on rehabilitating historic structures. His activities soon broadened to include on-site sales and marketing for mixed use loft developments in downtown Denver. Sales and Marketing and Corporate Identity projects included: Clements Rowhouse, Kinneavy Terrace Flats, Mercy Housing, Colorado Housing NOW!, Silver Square Lofts, Fire Clay Lofts and Highland Terrace Lofts.
