Professor David Burton, who treated us to a demonstration of rocket launch and guidance controls with the aid of one of the stage hands' floor brushes!The message however was stark.After years, even centuries, of leading the world in engineering skills, innovations and development this country now faces a dearth of young people prepared to make the effort to study and work in the field of engineering, Sadly it is much easier to get a degree in Social Studies.The message that he was bringing us was that there is shortly to be a special event held in London to try and inspire suitable young people to consider entering the world of engineering.
