Mr Burton, who is based in Busselton, is one of the very few cetacean (marine mammals such as whales, dolphins, sea lions and the like) experts living in Western Australia.

It was expected that the study would run for at least a year with Dr Burton keen to get as much assistance as possible from members of the local communities who would be invaluable in providing photographs and observations. Dr Burton was already part of the desalination project having been contracted to provide advice on management strategies being prepared to avoid any impacts on migrating whales in particular.

WWR will start accepting orders for these images as of the commencement of December 2004, expressions of interest can be made by emailing Chris Burton.The photo gallery will be regularly updated.
