   Betty Burton, Christ Episcopal Church's choir director, was the first to begin exploring the possibility of taking on the Rhododendron Festival parade with preliminary inquiries not long after the chamber announced plans to no longer host the event. More recently, Eureka Old Town Rotary stepped forward.
   
   "There are a lot of people really coming on board who didn't want to see it go down," Burton said.

   Betty has been in music education for thirty years. She has soloed with many orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, has sung with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and toured with the Roger Wagner Chorale. In addition to being our Choral Director, Betty is host of the KINS Kitchen and A Taste of Wine radio programs, as well as an agent with Ming Tree Realty. She has conducted sacred choral music for over 20 years.
