    Al Burton worked in telecommunications from his early teens beginning in the spring of 1943 in Kingston, Ontario with the North American Telegraph Company (originally owned by Bell Canada but then sold to Canadian Pacific Railways.) After 13 moves around Ontario, and working six years in Toronto, moved to London on December 27th, 1954 to work as a plant technician in CPR's repeater in 1952.Changes in government regulations saw CNR and CPR combine their services in to one company starting in the late 1960's and early 1970's.Retired on January 1st, 1988.Al is currently the president of the London Jazz Society and is a tireless supporter of jazz in the London area.In addition he is also one of the many fine hosts of the Jazz Junction Radio Show.
