   Timothy Burt is a Software Engineer in the Information Technology Group at Aptima. Mr. Burt is involved in the development of the Team Integrated and Design Environment (TIDE), which permits several organizational modeling tools from different research groups to inter-operate and share information. As part of this work, he is collaborating with other developers and researchers at Aptima to create a unified language for organizational modeling software. He also supports the on-going development of the Dynamic Distributed Decision-Making (DDD) Simulation software used by several projects at Aptima. He has experience with Matlab, Mathematica, and several computer languages including C, C++, Python, Lisp, Perl, and PHP.
   
   Prior to joining Aptima, Mr. Burt did research in theoretical and computational physics as a graduate student at Duke University. His work included computational analysis of chaos in the classical limit of certain quantum field theories, and he helped establish the theoretical background for a novel experiment to probe parity violation in atomic hydrogen at Duke's Free Electron Laser Lab.
   
   Mr. Burt received a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and an M.A. in Physics from Duke University.
