Lynn Burry, president of the NEITA says the above may be an over simplification of the options, but he thinks it sums it up in the easiest way for everyone to understand. Burry asks that members of the organization who have ideas on the issue but are unable to attend the March 6 meeting, send their opinions to him via e-mail: lsburry@adamswells.com

"It's the right of passage every spring," insists Lynn Burry, an avid fly fisherman and executive director of the Northeastern Indiana Trout Association.
...
Burry doesn't disagree and lauds the state for its rainbow stocking program. However, he and others would like to see Indiana do more to protect trout, especially browns stocked by clubs. That's why he spearheads an effort to organize groups who can provide a louder voice and convince the DNR to implement a more scientific management of trout lakes and streams.
...
Burry said. "The bass and muskie guys are organized but trout fishermen aren't."
That's why his Northeastern Indiana Trout Association, the St. Joseph River Valley Fly Fishers, Elkhart Conservation Club, Indianapolis Fly Casters and others have formed the Indiana Coldwater Fishery Coalition with hopes of getting more DNR attention devoted to trout. If you want to be part of it, call Burry at (260) 368-7590.
"There are about 35,000 trout stamps sold in Indiana, and while we realize some of those go to Lake Michigan anglers, we believe the majority of trout fishermen are weekend warriors who fish inland waters," he explained. "That includes people who harvest the fish and those who simply like to catch and release them."
Burry says many Hoosier trout anglers would like to see rule changes that would reduce bag limits and increase size limits for brown and brook trout. They'd also like to see catch-and-release regulations of specific waters.
"We think there's more natural reproduction going on in Indiana than biologists realize and we'd like to see them study that issue," he explained.
