SOMERSWORTH - Robert W. Burrows, 41, of 28 Franklin St., died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998 at his apartment in Somersworth, after a long fight with diabetes and its complications.

Born Nov. 21, 1956 in Manchester, he was the son of Beverly (Record) Burrows and the late Ray I. Burrows, chief of police in Durham for many years.

Robert lived most of his short lifetime in Durham and attended Oyster River High School where he was very active in all sports. He especially enjoyed ice hockey, baseball, basketball and soccer. During the summer, he also enjoyed swimming, boating and water skiing.

With his great love of the outdoors, his hobbies included hunting, trapping, working in his vegetable garden, and working with wood. He was employed by a local carpenter for some time, and he also ran a business, cutting, splitting, and delivering firewood. He also loved automobiles. He worked at various garages in the area and will be remembered for his work with the pit crews at the Lee Raceway.

Robert was a former member of the Newmarket Community Church.
