   Alex Burrows came to TNG with no work experience, so staff encouraged him to join the Environmental Task Force, which allowed him to improve his skills and undertake occupational training. Alex was trained in landscaping and joinery at Darcy Lever Cricket Club, before going on to experience plastering, bricklaying and rendering.
   
   Impressed with Alex's improved confidence and motivation, TNG arranged an interview for him with City Retail Support. The vacant position was to fit out stores across the country, and meant working away from home for most of the week.
   
   Alex had never left Bolton before and was nervous about the opportunity, but with TNG's encouragement he attended the interview and was successful in getting the job.
   
   He has now worked for CRS as far a field as Exeter and London, and is already being considered for a promotion to team leader.

   Alex came to TNG Bolton on the Environmental Task Force (ETF) programme and was looking for work in the Construction sector. He had no previous experience in any occupational area. Alex went on the ETF project at Darcy Lever Cricket Club where he learnt landscaping, joinery and painting skills.
