Ira Burroughs is our newest Reserve Firefighter joining us in 1998. Ira is a graduate of the Yuba College Firefighter Academy and has completed his one-year program as a Yuba College/Yuba City Student Firefighter. Ira is a State Certified Firefighter and possesses numerous specialized certificates.
During 1999 the Yuba City Fire Department intends to "grow" its Reserve Program by including graduates of the Yuba College/Yuba City Fire Student Firefighter Program. This will provide additional assistance to the Department as well as providing the opportunity for these graduates to continue using the skills they have acquired.
ROP Program
In 1998 the Yuba City Fire Science Regional Occupational Program (ROP) graduated its first group of full-year participants.
