After consulting with Bill Burroughs, MPSSAA Officials Coordinator and the Field Hockey Rulebook, the following policy is presented: a. Officials are to take note, when they arrive at a field, whether other games will be starting on nearby field, especially stadium fields with a public address system. b. Officials will speak with the home team coach to ask if the anthem might be played. c. If the answer is "yes", the official will ask what school protocol is.

If Burroughs doesn't know, nobody does.He said people ask him about the shot clock ,,a million times a year."And he does have an explanation of how it came to be that the state uses the shot clock for girls and not for boys.Not an answer, mind, but an explanation.
