Dr. Bill Burroughs

Bill BurroughsDr. Burroughs is the founder and co-owner of Knightdale Animal Hospital and Community Animal Hospital in Wendell.He is a North Carolina native, attended undergraduate studies at NCSU and completed Veterinary School at the University of Georgia, where he received his DVM degree in 1966.He has been practicing veterinary medicine in Eastern Wake Count for 34 years.He bought Wendell Animal Hospital in 1969 and built our current hospital in 1972.This is when the name was changed to Community Animal Hospital.He opened a second hospital in Knightdale in 2001, called Knightdale Animal Hospital.Dr. Burroughs and his wife, Joyce, have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.They have a Boston Terrier named "Annie," a miniature dachshund named "P.D." and an orange tabby cat named "Felipe".

While Dr. Burroughs enjoys the priveledge of having years of "old-fashioned" veterinary experience, he still manages to keep afloat of new medical and technological advances of today's modern veterinary medicine.Currently, Dr. Burroughs is enjoying the fruits of his labor in retirement and practices on a consultation basis only.During his newly found free time, he enjoys gardening and spending time at the beach.
