   Kathleen Burriss, a professor in the Department of Elementary and Special Education at Middle Tennessee State University, said children shouldn't be burdened by selling goods to help out their schools.
   
   "I'm appalled at the amount and the pressure that schools put on their teachers and students for fundraisers," said Burriss, a former classroom teacher.
