Argosy University/Honolulu is pleased to announce that Cecelia Burrill, EdD has been appointed as the new campus president effective June 1, 2005.
Prior to this appointment, Burrill joined the administration of Argosy University/Atlanta in 1993 as program coordinator of the Master of Arts in Psychology (Professional Counseling Specialty) program and, in 2002, became Department Head of the Master of Arts in Professional Counseling.Since November 2004, Burrill has served as Interim Campus President of the school.
"Dr. Burrill has displayed significant ability at handling the rigors inherent in the role of president, not only through her leadership of Argosy University/Atlanta during the last eight months, but through her energetic leadership of Argosy University/Atlanta's well regarded professional counseling program," says Dr. Gregory M. St. L. O'Brien, Argosy University President."Her service and achievements to date have already shown that she will be an excellent leader for the faculty, staff, and students at Argosy University/Honolulu."
Dr. Burrill has extensive experience in program and curriculum development, recruitment and admissions, and facilitating relations between faculty and students.She currently serves on the Argosy Academic Council, an institutional academic governance and policy-coordinating group that reviews changes to current curricula and proposals for new curricula from an academic point of view.Her familiarity with higher-education topics has led to numerous conference presentations and published papers.
Dr. Burrill holds her Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University/Sarasota and received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta.
