   This album is one of the top-level priorities we have here , said David Burrier , director of product development for Atlantic Records in New York. When our general manager started hearing some of the new music over the summer , it moved to the top of the line as far as we were concerned. It's definitely not getting buried anywhere. We're hoping to ship between 500 , 000 to 600 , 000 units , so we have to be on top of it..
   
   Satellite's first single , Alive , recently shipped to multi-format Rock radio outlets nationwide. Major-market stations like WIYY-FM/Baltimore , KRXQ-FM/Sacramento , KXXR-FM/Minneapolis and KUFO-FM/Portland were among the 100-plus stations to add the track a full two weeks before its official July 30 add date.

   This single is off to a much quicker start than anything they've done in the past , Burrier told The CCM Update. Over the course of the past two years , they've built up enough good will that radio programmers have come around. The music has a lot to do with it , too. The fact that it is a hit song helps. People speculate all the time that rap rock is over. That's what they said three years ago when we serviced the first single – they will use any excuse not to play it. But when the band is able to deliver a song like this , it makes it a lot harder for [ programmers ] to make excuses..

   They've delivered the goods enough that people realize this is a real band with real fans , Burrier said. This time around it is easier to coordinate all that attention at once , instead of spreading it out over a two-year period. Everything seems to be firing at the same time..
   
   In the retail arena , Atlantic's Christian division has teamed with Family Christian Stores to offer a pre-order download card promotion. When customers pre-order Satellite between Aug. 20 and Sept. 10 , they will receive a poster and an imprinted card that functions much like a telephone calling card. An access number printed on the card will allow customers to download the Alive single from the band's Web site and see behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the record.
