About Jon Burrell
Jon Burrell became UbiNetics's Chief Technology Officer in April 2003, previously holding the post of Senior VP of Business Development, Core Technology Projects. He was one of the founding members of UbiNetics and has served with the company since January 1999.
Jon has 20 years experience in Product Development, and has an in depth knowledge of micro electronic and wireless technologies, having developed GSM, cordless, IS-95 and most recently 3G mobile telecommunications systems. He has led several major development assignments including the development of the UMTS demonstrator system that led to the formation of UbiNetics
Before starting UbiNetics he was a managing consultant at PA Consulting Group where he was responsible for the Baseband and Digital Signal Processing group within the Wireless Technology Practice and identified WCDMA as an area for investment in 1996. From 1978 to 1986 Jon was company founder and Technical Director at Spectra Scan Ltd after 5 years at Plessey Radar Research Labs.
He holds an MA (Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and is a chartered engineer and member of the IEE. -
