    Steve Burr is a multi instrumental musician and sonic artist currently residing in Venice California. He got his start musically in Cocoa Beach, Florida playing drums in the local beach clubs. He attended the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale before leaving Florida to attend CALARTS (California Institute of the Arts) where he earned a B.F.A. During his time in school he studied recording engineering and electronic music as well as building instruments entirely from scratch and playing some of the traditional Afro/Cuban forms of hand drums and Javanese Gamalan.

    Recently featured playing harmonica in New Line Cinemas DVD release "50 Cent - Refuse 2 Die" (Directed by Underhill) He has been involved in live and recorded percussion for large theater and dance productions like KEN KESEY's "CHILDREN'S STORIES" at the John Anson Ford Theater, RIKA O'HARE's SALOME at CALARTS and GATE PRODUCTIONS' FAILURE TO DISPERSE. After co-founding the improvisational "Techno-Tribal" group THE MUDMEN, he played acoustic/electric percussion for various L.A. bands like BUSHTAXI and went on to co-found DIRT TRIBE, a Funk-Rock outfit that played the L.A. club circuit during the 80's. In the early 90's he did a west coast tour with Vangaurd recording artists DIFFERENT WORLD.

    He also composed and played on the scores of the feature films SWITCH Directed by Brian Lynch THE LONG WEEKEND by director GREG ARAKI and VENICE BEACH PARTY by ANDREW LERNER. He has recently been busy composing music for commercials like the KZG GOLF television campaign and interactive media such as The MICROSOFT project INTERCOM, and INFRARED SIGHTINGS, an animation laserdisk by Trigon Productions.
