   Kevin M. Burr was born and raised in Northern Ohio. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1978. Prior to joining the Red Cross he spent 22 years in the United States Army. He has an extensive background in emergency management including three years in law enforcement and almost ten years in Military Support to Civil Authority under the Federal Response Plan. He was the operations officer for the Department of Defense's first Response Task Force for Weapons of Mass Destruction Crisis and Consequence Management. In that capacity he was part of the DoD counter-terrorism team at the 1996 Olympics. Kevin holds a master's degree from Western New England College. Kevin has been the Emergency Services Director for the Central Maryland Chapter of the ARC since 1999. In that capacity he has been involved in several thousand local disaster responses and has worked major National Disasters such as Hurricane Floyd, Hurricane Isabel and Katrina. He was deployed to New York City following the 9-11 attacks. Kevin, his wife Paula and their three children live in Ellicott City, Maryland.
