   Dr. Burns is originally from Boise, Idaho and is in his 4th year as team physician for the Texas Tornado.He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University.After college, Dr. Burns attended the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School where he received his MD Degree and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.Dr. Burns completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.He finished his fellowship training at the University of Chicago in Sports Medicine.Dr. Burns is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and holds fellowships in the American College of Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.He has provided care for numerous teams and athletes including the Dallas Freeze of the Central Hockey League and Plano East Senior High School.Dr. Burns specializes in knee and shoulder reconstruction and arthroscopy.In his spare time, he enjoys weight lifting, snow skiing, golf, and spending time with his four children and wife.
