   In 1988, Father McGarry was appointed pastor of St. Peter Claver Parish in West Hartford and Rev. William Burns joined Father Hyland as co-pastor at St. Gabriel parish in September 1988.

   Prior to his convictions for child rape and molestation in Boston and New Hampshire, defrocked priest William R. Burns was an assistant pastor at St. Paul Catholic Church in North Canton. He also taught at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
