In his new role, Dr. Burns will be responsible for defining and leading Artesyn's next generation technology strategy.
   
   With over 20 years of engineering experience in the power industry, Dr. Burns brings a substantial technology industry background to Artesyn.    Dr. Burns holds a bachelors degree from Harvard University and received a Ph.D in electrical engineering from Duke University. He has published numerous articles on power converter technology and is a past president of the Power Electronics Council of the IEEE. In addition, he holds a patent for a state-space control methodology for DC/DC converters.
