   Xerox today has the broadest portfolio of document management systems and software in its industry and in its history.That progress happened on Ursula's watch as she drove a technology strategy that launched more than 100 products in the last three years.
   
   Ursula has led activities that strengthened Xerox's business model, resulting in a more efficient, competitive and profitable company.She helped the company through an aggressive, multibillion-dollar turnaround plan that significantly strengthened Xerox's competitive position in the marketplace.The company's success in dramatically improving its financial position, delivering value for shareholders and creating a portfolio of innovative technology and value-added services prompted MONEY Magazine to dub Xerox "the great turnaround story of the post-crash era - an IBM for the 2000s."
   
   Burns worked her way upward after starting at Xerox as an intern more than 27 years ago.She was named president of Xerox Corporation, and elected a member of the Xerox Board of Directors in April 2007.
   
   She joined Xerox in 1980 as a mechanical engineering summer intern.She has since held several positions in engineering including product development and planning.From 1992 through 2000, Burns led several business teams including the office color and fax business and office network copying business.In 2000, she was named senior vice president, Corporate Strategic Services, heading up manufacturing and supply chain operations.She was named president of Xerox Business Group Operations in 2002.Burns was appointed an officer of the company in 1997 and named a corporate senior vice president in 2000.
   
   Burns earned a bachelor of science degree from Polytechnic Institute of New York and a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University.She serves on professional and community boards, including American Express Corp., Boston Scientific Corp., CASA - The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, FIRST - (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), National Academy Foundation, National Association of Manufacturers, and the University of Rochester.
   
   Home base for Ursula is Rochester, N.Y., where Xerox has its largest population of employees.But most of her time is spent traveling to Xerox and customer locations around the world.
