Burns is a native of Shelby and a graduate of Crest High School.He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Campbell University and Masters degree form Lundy-Fetterman School of Business at Campbell University.He completed postgraduate studies at the Southeastern Trust School.
Before coming to Lillington, Burns was the town manger in Coats for 14 months.He currently serves as adjunct instructor at Wake Technical Community College.Burns expressed his appreciation for the Board at the Feb. 20 meeting.
"I appreciate the challenge the Board has entrusted me to undertake.This is a time of rapid growth in Lillington and I am thrilled to be a part of it," Burns said.
Burns is the son of Tommy and Robin Burns of Shelby.
