   Stewart Burns, a support officer with Glasgow City Council's community council resource centre, said: "With the building of a new school which will have children from Robroyston attending it, the area is developing as a community. "The local residents associations argued that Robroyston was becoming a sustainable community and needed a separate community council." He added: "Some people have been living there for nearly 20 years now and have put roots down."

   Stewart explained: "This means that agencies like SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Association), NHS Greater Glasgow and the Scottish Executive will write to the community council rather than to every resident to get opinions on different issues.
