    Kathleen Burkhart joined Akoya in May 2006 as a senior financial executive with a proven track record of success in managing companies undergoing high growth.Mrs. Burkhart is highly experienced in all aspects of fundraising and brings a strong background in the technical aspects of accounting and finance to Akoya.

    Prior to joining Akoya, Mrs. Burkhart served as the CFO of Mobitrac, Inc., a venture-backed software company providing on-demand software services to the trucking industry.Mrs. Burkhart was also the founder and Managing Director of the Boston office of the Greenough Consulting Group, an interim CFO staffing firm.As a CFO, Mrs. Burkhart worked primarily with venture-backed companies, including Frictionless Commerce, Inc., PowerCard, Inc., Zooba.com (sold to Bertelsmann A.G.) and VisionScope, Inc.She led a number of clients from their series A investment round through acquisition.

    Mrs. Burkhart began her professional career in venture capital as an associate with the Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) and with Shawmut Capital Partners.At MTDC, she participated on the boards of directors of companies in numerous verticals, including manufacturers, Core-M (medical device); Tytronix (industrial testing equipment) and Millitech (high-bandwidth transmission systems).

    Mrs. Burkhart holds an MBA in Finance, cum laude, from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, and a BSc from the University of Notre Dame.
