According to Greene, seven out of 12 acts are local, and while many are returning musicians, Acoustic on the Greene welcomes new artists such as Burgess, Joe Danielâ€"who will be performing with one of last year's favorites, Jake Phillipsâ€"and Drew Stevyns, who Greene said is "the thing now" in the Washington, DC, area.

Guitarist/bassist/vocalist Josh Burgess has a rich, resonant voice that instantly draws comparisons to Darius Rucker, especially on the eponymous albums closer, Lunartick, and the sublime Lighter Side.

Congratulations to northern Virginia-based singer/songwriter Josh Burgess on the release of his new album, Living And Dying Under Orion. Burgess recently brought his excellent band to Gastonia to complete work on his new album at Old House. Burgess brought 2" analog tapes from Cue Studios in DC with four songs to mix, along with six new songs the band recorded at Old House.

Traveling with Boyle will be drummer Sean Bradley, 21, of Herndon; guitarist Josh Burgess, 30, of Waterford; bass guitarist Jeff Reed, 25, of Baltimore; guitarist Chris Roque, 30, of Baltimore; and manager Gabe Gawen, 24, of Fairfax City.

Burgess said his reaction to the opportunity to entertain the troops was "cartwheels. "I've always wanted to see the world, and now music is taking me there," said Burgess, who also plays with the local band Schizophonic.
