Graham Bunter, Managing Director of Remous, explains: "We always aim to provide our clients with the best service possible and, in an industry which is developing rapidly, keeping up to date and investing in new technology is key to our success in fulfilling this objective. As our platemaker was retiring, and in response to the market demands for speed, consistent quality and efficiency, we decided that now was the right time to invest in our first CtP system.
"We looked at several installations of competitive systems to compare violet imaging technology with thermal and found that the thermal-based machines are a more up to date product. The Screen PlateRite 4000 offered us the thermal solution we required, at a reasonable price," continues Bunter."We were also able to satisfy our scanning requirements by investing in the Screen Cezanne scanner, which we believe offers the best price/performance features for professional scanning on the market."
Since the installation of the Screen PlateRite 4000, Remous has experienced considerable improvements in make ready times and in the quality of the finished product.Plate production, using Kodak Elektra plates, is averaging at 600 to 800 per month.
Herts & Essex Printers and Remous were aided in their decision to choose the Screen CtP configuration by Openshaw International's new Opentools Software, an easy to use step-by-step guide to CtP evaluation.
