Mudgee Police Sergeant Brendan Bunter said Mr Croake's Toyota Landcruiser 4WD left the Pyramul Road, south of Windeyer, shortly before 9pm Saturday.

Mudgee Local Area Command Acting Inspector Brendan Bunter said two vehicles, and four people, were involved in the 2.30pm accident.

Mudgee Police Sergeant Brendan Bunter said somebody stole part of the church's small wireless microphone system between 9am Thursday and 9am Friday.

What was stolen is useless on its own, Sgt Bunter said.

He encouraged anybody with information on the theft to contact Mudgee Police on 6372-8599 or to return the stolen item to the church, no questions asked.

"All licensed firearms holders must be inspected to ensure safe storage of their firearms and to ensure that the firearms they own actually match the firearms listed in our records," said Sergeant Brendan Bunter of the Mudgee Local Area Command."This is a state-wide initiative, and not just something involving our local command.It applies to all the different categories of firearms licenses."Sergeant Brendan urged registered firearms owners in Mudgee and Gulgong call 6372 8518 between the hours of 1 pm and 9 pm, Monday through Friday, to schedule a visit and inspection by police."That number is a direct line to a dedicated person who is setting up appointments for inspections," he said.
