Fred Bryant, owner of Valley Offset Printing, said he has given the OK to start construction but weather has hindered the project.He said he hopes the 9,670-square-foot addition will be complete within the next four months.

Downed power lines gave business owners such as Fred Bryant of Valley Offset Printing Inc. in Valley Center no choice but to shut down.

"We were probably losing $25,000 to $30,000 a day," he says."We had pressmen here standing by waiting for power to come on.Finally we just gave up and said, 'Well, go on home, and if something happens, we'll call you.' "

Bryant says the biggest frustrations were not being able to help his regular customers and sending 25 employees home during the 2 1/2 days wait.

Fred Bryant stated he has 54 employees now and that 65-70% of them live in Valley Center.
