Aimee Bruner, Director of Operations Aimee grew up in Toronto, and spent her childhood days playing soccer and softball with her friends.Aimee attended North Toronto Collegiate where she was on the soccer and basketball teams and then moved to Halifax where she received her BA in Sociology from Dalhousie University.After graduation, she travelled through Europe for three months before returning to Toronto.Aimee began working in a pre-school as a programmer and instructor before her desire to help people led her to a position at the Muki Baum Association.Muki Baum is a non-profit organization that provides day and residential programs to children and adults with multiple disabilities.After two years working as a direct care staff, she was promoted to Residential Supervisor heading up a group home for boys who have complex developmental disabilities and psychological/emotional disorders.Though she loved her job at Muki Baum, her true love has always been camp.
Aimee began attending Gay Venture Girls Camp when she was twelve years old and immediately fell in love with camp and all it encompasses.She continued to attend Gay Venture every summer as a camper and then eventually staff member.Before becoming a section head for fifteen-year old girls, she was also the head of canoeing and an activity instructor.
When Aimee is not at work, you can find her playing with kids, hanging out with friends, traveling or playing her guitar.
In her role as the Director of Operations, Aimee is stationed in Toronto, but spends a fair amount of time at Camp.She is responsible for all of the logistics required to keep the Camp and our Toronto office functioning on a day-to-day basis.
