Loyalist's supervisor of facility services Grant Brummell said the addition of the cameras is a necessary security measure brought to attention by administration staff, and from students who lived in residence and reported incidents of pranks, trespassing and vandalism.

"We expect the increased surveillance will help to prevent vandalism and bring more accountability to these situations as well as provide a safer environment for students," said Brummell.

"There have been numerous requests by the students to keep the school open longer," said Grant Brummel, supervisor of facilities services Loyalist.

Grant Brummell, the supervisor of facilities services, says there are not a lot of theft reports made to him.

The school added a close-circuit television system back in January, as part of the Super Build project, to help deter would-be thieves.

Brummell has heard nothing about a missing camera and has not seen an incident report about it.

"The best defence is a strong offence," he says.

He suggests all valuables should be locked up and not left out in the open, because it encourages something to happen.He added they only get reports of theft periodically.
