   Bob is a Healthcare Management Consultant. After a five-year association with Milkman & Robertson, Inc. he opened an independent consulting practice in 1998.
   
   Bob has taught orthopedic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and served as Chairman of the Orthopedic Departments at two hospitals. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
   
   Bob leads and participates with consulting teams composed of physicians, nurses, actuaries, economists, and other professionals. Most of these consulting assignments require the integration of multiple disciplines to achieve efficient healthcare delivery. He directs the analysis of strategic and organizational issues in order to define their impact and improve system performance and efficiency. He is also a frequent industry speaker.
   
   Bob has consulted extensively with occupational medicine, 24-hour care and disability management. He is co-author of M&R's Healthcare Management Guidelines - Volume 7 - Workers' Compensation and Volume 2 - Disability Management. His consulting with hospital providers, state agencies, insurers, and employers includes re-engineering, clinical audit, seminar training, disability management, utilization management, case rate development, continuous quality improvement, critical pathways, capitation distribution, contract analysis, resource modeling, and other high-level strategic issues.
   
   Dr. Bruckman is co-author of outcome measurement tools (i.e. the Degree of Disability Management and Disability Management Index) used extensively in workers' compensation.
