   February 28, 2003 - Until collapsing in overtime, the Patrick Henry Patriots gave the George Wythe Bulldogs everything they could handle Wednesday night in the second round of the Central Region Tournament. After trekking across town in a winter storm, coach Vince Wilson's team hustled and hit several clutch shots to tie the game with 41 seconds left. There was no magic left for the extra period, however, as Wythe pulled away for the 71-61 win.

   May 5, 2002 - Lee-Davis won a state championship last year, and like all good veteran teams, they lost a lot of key players to graduation. The Confederates still have experience at all the key positions, but the team's success or failure this season depends on some younger guys coming up big to keep the wins coming.
   
   By coach Kenny Lewis' account, his team is getting the pitching, making the plays, and racking up the key hits he thinks his team needs to win another title.
